Health is Wealth

"If by gaining knowledge (or wealth) we destroy our health, we labour for a thing that will be useless in our hands." --John Locke
"If we could give every individual the right amount of nourishment and exercise, not too little and not too much, we would have found the safest way to health." --Hippocrates
"The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease." --Thomas Edison
Many of the Success Gurus give health a VERY high priority, imagine you are successful and finally buy your dream home overlooking the beach don't you want to be healthy enough to enjoy it? The best information we have is that lots of fresh vegetables and fruit are good for us. There is a product called green drink which balances your alkalinity, but smoothies are much more fun to drink. Smoothies contain massive amounts of fruit and are delightful to drink (should be available in your local supermarket). Remember being successful is not just confined to m0ney making, you should find that you becoming naturally more active as you start participating more actively in the lives of your friends, family and community. Eating properly and being more active should help you to keep your weight down without wasting all that energy dieting. One of your rewards for achieving a mini-goal should be to go for a spin on your bike to a coffee shop, hey and try and pick a coffee shop that's a bit further away!
Try and audit your health, are you eating a balanced diet, are you getting enough exercise, do you sleep well and wake up refreshed? Do you feel right in yourself. Decide on a small improvement that you can make to your health today. See health as a long term investment in yourself .

Do the Most Important Thing First

Successful people make a HABIT of doing things they don't like to do! Mike Litman
Millionaire steel magnate Andrew Carnegie once paid a consultant $64,000 for advice. The consultant gave Carnegie two ideas: Write down what you have to do today and DO THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FIRST. In actual fact this story was the other way round. The consultant said I will give you some advice, and you pay me what you think it is worth, the $64,000 subsequently offered being at that time a fortune. If you can make yourself do this then you've won the battle and can leave this course. What happens to most people is the opposite they start doing the trivial painless tasks, then just as they get to the point where then can finally face doing the important task they get blown off course by that urgent request or emergency. This is one of the key reasons why they don't ever get to start their dream project.
Do your list, prioritise the list, then steel yourself and actually do the nasty top priority job. Make this a habit and see how good it feels!

Getting into the State: Breathing Exercises

At several points in the day, try simply closing your eyes and taking a deep breath.Turn your attention inward and remember whatever it is you need to, and as you let your breath out exhale all your tension and concerns. David Kundtz
Rebuilding yourself for Success can at times be emotionally stressful, in any case as you start succeeding you will certainly enter new unfamiliar areas. When this causes you anguish, you will find that deep breathing will bring you relief. Sometimes however you can feel unenergetic and demotivated deep-Breathing can help get yourself "into the state"
Just practice (discretely) pumping up your oxygen with rapid deep breaths, feel your energy levels rise and your mood improve.

Manifestation

All that is necessary to break the spell of inertia and frustration is this: Act as if it were impossible to fail. That is the talisman, the formula, the command of right about face, which turns us from failure to success.
Some believe that you can achieve a successful outcome, just by imagining it or believing it strongly enough (Napoleon Hill). Sceptics might choose to see manifestation as advanced positive thinking, i.e you are so confident something is going to happen that you brush aside the difficulties that might previously have flummoxed you.
Start training your Manifestation abilities. Decide that you will find an item of clothing that you will like, decide that you will find a parking place, decide that you will win your squash game. When you think about it what can be wrong with thinking this way.

Be Positive!

A study of Nuns showed those with a happy disposition lived an average of 9 YEARS longer and their morose colleagues!
From now on, every time anyone asks you how you are, the out loud answer is always and forever a very, very positive positive! (Great! Terrific! Fantastic!) NO MATTER HOW YOU REALLY FEEL! It doesn't matter! You are trying to change you! FOREVER!
Just be positive, be the bright spark in everyone's day. Just force yourself, see how differently people start treating you. Spread confidence!!

Time Slicing

"The way to achieve inner peace is to finish off all the things you have started".
It is very difficult to get everything done. Worse there's always the problem of new 'urgent' projects pushing partly or nearly completed projects into the sidelines or dormancy. One trick is to do something even if it's just a little for each of your current projects. This is called time-slicing successful people are very good at this, success apprentices have to learn to make time-slicing a habit.
Make a list of your ongoing projects and do a little to advance each one today.Do this and notice how good you feel

Why You Need a Success Partner or Mastermind Group

"Don't be distracted by criticism. Remember the only taste of success some people have is when they take a bite out of you." Zig Ziglar
As you are starting down your new-found business path, you need to find like-minded people. You can form a mastermind group. These will be the people you meet with or contact regularly to discuss your goals, strategies, successes and more. You keep each other on track, and help tweak each other's visions. Sometimes your job is to motivate one another. Sometimes you'll have incredible brainstorming sessions. Sometimes you'll partner up and form powerful, profitable joint ventures.
Think where you may find such valuable people it's not easy, many of your normal friends will only good intentionally discourage you. The best place to find your success-partner or mastermind group is at "Success/Internet/self-Improvement" seminars

Finishing Tasks

The way to achieve inner peace is to finish off all the things you have started
Half-finished projects are a great hallmark of unsuccessful people. Sometimes people have put in vast amounts of work, nearly finish and then somehow let their project become dormant. Not only is this a great waste of effort and energy they actually carry on draining you with guilt feelings. There seems to be some enormous psychological barrier to restarting cold projects. There is a trick which is related to the half-job trick, decide what is the smallest easiest step you can take to revive the project, decide on it, decide what reward you will give yourself should succeed. Then take a deep breathe and do it.
Identify your dormant projects, and decide which to kill off and which should be resuscitated be brutal.

Success Mantra

"Formulate and stamp indelibly on your mind a mental picture of yourself as succeeding. Hold this picture tenaciously and never permit it to fade. Your mind will seek to develop this picture!" Dr. Norman Vincent Peale Author of "The Power of Positive Thinking"
I expect excellence of myself and those around me I am a great coach and cheerleader to myself and others People like to be around me because I bring out the best in them I let go of all doubts about my own abilities My abilities are growing stronger today I expect to win
Print and stick up this mantra in as a discrete or obvious place as you feel suitable. Remember we need as much positive encouragement as possible, the trick is to repeat the mantra so often that it slips into your subconscious.

Bouncing

I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have. Thomas Jefferson
To be successful you have to get more done, more efficiently. Try to always keep busy, 'bounce' from job to job (even if what you are doing is "unimportant"), always do something tidying, rearranging, take things out to the car so you don't forget them, the more you do the MORE energy you will have. This is the reverse of the couch-potato who is always tired. Bouncing stops you having enough time to worry about the difficulty of doing a task, because you find yourself doing it before you realise. Try bouncing, try keeping busy, feel your energy increasing, feel the satisfaction increase as you clear up your jobs.

Finding the Positive in the Negative

One of the most beneficial practices I know of is that of looking for the good in everyone and everything, for there is good in all things. We encourage a person by seeing his good qualities and we also help ourselves by looking for them. Theron Dumont Unsuccessful people brood, wallow and sulk when they something bad happens, successful people move on and try to find the positive. In fact it often happens that life mini-disasters such as losing a job turn out for the best as people end up finding a better or more interesting job, or they get their act together and take their career seriously or get more qualifications. The technique to develop is say "OK something bad has happened, now how can I make use of it?".

Inventory your Life Successes (Success Diary)

I was always looking outside myself for strength and confidence, but it comes from within. It is there all the time." Anna Freud Curiously we remember our failures more than our successes, ANTs (Automatic Negative Thoughts) see to the job of recalling your disasters, but there is no equivalent APT to remind us of our successes. So start your list (everyone starts off thinking they've got nothing to write down) you will add to the list over the months as you gradually recall events. Put down qualifications, sport successes, hobbies, business ventures, adventures, holidays, interests, jobs, promotions, clubs, investments, good deeds, voluntary activities. Now everything you've done in the past is important, but what is more interesting will be your future successes. Note the first victories over yourself, the first time you beat a bad habit, the first time you move outside your comfort zone note these down. Start your Inventory immediately, rest assured it will grow both as you remember things in your past and then vitally as you add new successes.

Breaking out of your Comfort Zone

Wouldn't you agree that it's crazy to think you'll get different results if you keep doing the same thing over and over again? One of the things that can prevent success is the difficulty of stepping outside your Comfort Zone. Once you get used to attacking your Comfort Zone, you'll find it gets larger but it will always be there. Luckily today there are many ways to launch say on Online Business , gradually , and part-time so you can expand your Comfort Zone gradually. Ask yourself where your comfort zone is, how far would you dare to try something new.

ANT - Automatic Negative Thoughts

"Form the habit of thinking and talking of prosperity and abundance, and very soon material evidence of these will begin to manifest itself in the nature of wider opportunity and new and unexpected opportunity." Napoleon Hill Everyone suffers to a greater or lesser extent from attacks from their greatest critic: themselves! This is the inner voice which reminds you of your uselessness whenever you embark on a new project.Sometimes these ANTs cause us to replay a "video" of some previous disaster for the 100th time. With training you can learn techniques which will allow you to deflect these ANTs before they get going. But the tactic for today is for you to spend more time thinking strategically, planning the next meeting, your next project, your evening, your weekend. That's the best way of beating ANTs use your mind more effectively.

The Half-Job Tip

"The victory of success is half won when one gains the habit of setting goals and achieving them. Even the most tedious chore will become endurable as you parade through each day convinced that every task, no matter how menial or boring, brings you closer to fulfilling your dreams." --Og Mandino Just think about this Tip, it's important. A major stumbling block for most people is they the keep putting off unpleasant projects. We'll keep coming back to this over the hundred days, but This is a great tip. Get a project STARTED by saying say "I will assemble the paperwork into a folder" and then STOP.

Listening

When you talk to people avoid being "Interesting" instead choose to be interested, learn from them. Jim Canfield When meeting people however casually try to let them talk, learn something from them, ask their advice, don't entertain them with your brilliance. See other people, however unlikely, as opportunities to be "mined" THEY WILL KNOW SOMETHING that is USEFUL to YOU! Listen twice as much as you talk!!

Be tougher on yourself

"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant." Robert Louis Stevenson Remember you are usually (eventually) punished in a micro or macro way for any sloppiness, not emptying/refilling your sports bag as soon as you get back from the gym. Letting paperwork slip. Not putting a tool back in its exact spot, not having spare printer and computer media. The trick is to be tougher on yourself to be kinder to yourself in the longterm. Catch yourself being sloppy, and do the right thing!

Improve your Decision Making

A decision without an action is valueless (Tony Robbins) Get used to making decisions quicker, avoid delaying decisions. Make a decision immediately or tell people at what time you'll make a decision (and stick to it). Decision making becomes easier with practice. Just watch out often you were called to make a decision today. Analyse how you reached your decision, decide whether you actually took a decision or procrastinated it.

Five Bad Leadership Attitudes

1. "Because I'm the manager, you better respect me . . . or else!" 2. "People are lazy; I have to force them to work." 3. "I'm superior to everyone. I can do anything I want." 4. "If you work for me, you need to smile for whatever I say." 5. "If you don't like how I run things, you can leave."

Creating Urgency

Taphephobia is the fear of being buried alive! It is difficult for people who earning an adequate living to break out of their comfort zone and launch their online career or achieve some other dream. What they lack is a sense of urgency or real deadlines. The trick is to artificially manufacture urgency, get busy, launch parallel projects etc. One technique I use is to jog between jobs, even menial jobs, keep busy-busy. This helps create the buzz required and sense of achievement required to get started on the important stuff. Decide to have a 5 minute frenzy where you get as much done as possible. Preferably physical things pay a bill, tidy your desk, prepare your briefcase for tomorrow. See how it feels afterwards, imagine the advantages if it became a habit. Finally, develop a sense of urgency. Pick up the pace. Move quickly from one task to another. Don't waste time. The faster you move, the more energy you will have. The faster you move, the more in control of your life you will feel and the more you will like and respect yourself.

Making Use of Your Dead-Time

"A dream is just a dream. A goal is a dream with a plan and a deadline." Harvey Mackay To succeed you have to get more done in a shorter time. See how much you can get done while the kettle boils, can you tidy stuff away, pay a bill. Remove invoices from your wallet. Use this technique to get the little things done so may be just may be you can attack the big things. When you can't do something physical, ie when you are in a lift/elevator or traffic jam, use the time to plan. Plan what you want to achieve in a meeting, run through the things you need to get done, how you will spend the evening. Next time you are waiting for the printer/kettle see just how much you can get done. Make it a game :)
