It is easily reviewed and updated, and presents the skills of team members in a single chart.
A Skills Matrix will help you to:
• Review the skills and competences required for roles within the team
• Assess training needs
• Identify gaps in skills within the team
• Build commitment to the development of new skills.

Steps in preparing a Skills Matrix:

1.Identify the job roles in your team

List your team members in the left-hand column of the blank Performa. Identify up to 8 key tasks or roles that your team must fulfill to be effective and achieve its goals.

It may help to use the following tips:

• What are the main things that individuals in the team have to be able to do?”
• Refer to Job Descriptions for the team.
• Use KRA to help compile the key skills required to operate in a wide range of business areas.
• Consider new tasks and skills that may be required of your team in the near future.
• If it becomes too complicated, break the job roles down into some key areas, and create a Skills Matrix for each.

2. Coding and standards of performance

-Another option is to rate the skill level of the individuals with a coding system:
-Can complete the task
-Can complete the task to the required standard.
-Complete the task to the required standard, in the required amount of time.
-Could do all of the above and train others.

3. Assess the requirement for on-the-job training

-You are now in a position to see what requirements you have for new skills to achieve your team objectives.
-You can update training as it is completed by each individual and keep track of progress.
-The maximum number of people required to be able to complete a skill may vary, and will affect your requirement for on-the-job training.

Point to be remembered

-To avoid any unnecessary duplication of skills ,use column to show the maximum number of people requiring this skill.
-Review this number with your team regularly, and according to changing circumstances.
-To update the Skills Matrix regularly. This is a dynamic document that may change due to changes in priority, personnel, time of year.
-To incorporate a review of the matrix into monthly team meetings.
-To gain commitment to training and development by keeping the team involved in updating the matrix and assessing needs.

One liners - Definitions

1. WiMax: Back in 2003, WiMax was heralded as the ultimate solution to the world's connectivity problems, capable of covering an entire city with ubiquitous broadband. WiMax today, however, is little more than an IT backbone for long-distance line-of-sight wide-area networks, largely because it's not very effective for the kinds of mobile devices that most people use for wireless Internet service. The basic technology of WiMax may yet evolve as part of future 4G cellular networks, but that's still a long way off.

IPTV: Oh, how we've hungered for the video nirvana that IPTV has been promising. But while Verizon's FiOS TV and AT&T's U-Verse are finally rolling out, they've yet to produce the amazing lineup of HD channels, on-demand shows, integrated gaming, and digital voice calling the companies claimed would come, and they're still anything but ubiquitous. Meanwhile, digital cable has evolved enough to take some of the wind out of IPTV's sails.

RFID: If early predictions were to be believed, today you would be walking through the grocery store filling up your cart as tiny radio frequency identification (RFID) tags announced the contents of the cart and an RFID-enabled credit card automatically paid the bill. Ummm, nope. The biggest holdup has come from the very companies attempting to roll out the technology, with industry infighting over standardization keeping RFID on the shelf.

Virtual reality: Second Life boasts a 3D space in which users can buy and sell property, create objects, and socialize, but its relatively crude graphics still feel more virtual than real. Virtual reality as folks imagined it in the 1990s isn't likely to emerge until someone invents a wearable display that people will actually wear. At least we have "World of Warcraft".

Knowing Where to Tap...

Ever heard the story of the giant ship engine that failed? The ship's owners tried one expert after another, but none of them could figure but how to fix the engine. Then they brought in an old man who had been fixing ships since he was a youngster. He carried a large bag of tools with him, and when he arrived, he immediately went to work. He nspected the engine very carefully, top to bottom.

Two of the ship's owners were there, watching this man, hoping he would know what to do. After looking things over, the old man reached into his bag and pulled out a small hammer. He gently tapped something. Instantly, the engine lurched into life. He carefully put his hammer away. The engine was fixed! A week later, the owners received a bill from the old man for ten thousand dollars.

"What?!" the owners exclaimed. "He hardly did anything!"

So they wrote the old man a note saying, "Please send us an itemized bill."

The man sent a bill that read:

Tapping with a hammer ........................ $ 2.00

Knowing where to tap ............................ $ 9998.00

Effort is important, but knowing where to make an effort in your life makes all the difference.

Mentors

Did you know that most Mentors have Mentors themselves, as they
know that however good they are they could still do better?
"A mentor is someone who sees more talent and ability within you, than you see in yourself, and helps bring it out of you"- bob Proctor
Tony Robbins says that most people just drift through life as
though they were floating down a river in a barrel, happy when the river current is gentle, helpless when they hit the rapids. You have to make sure you are directing the movie of your own life, you have to forward plan, develop strategies, get those LONG-TERM things done, not just firefight daily problems. It's tough to give priority to long-term projects eg studying for an exam which is a year away, paying for a pension which is 30 years away, progressing your dream project which is forever bobbing away on your horizon.
How can you counter this:-
1) Create a written Business (Time) Plan for your Project
2) Plan what daily or weekly time you will allocate
3) Put a checklist on your wall to ensure you complete these tasks
4) Detail the mini-rewards you will promise yourself when you
complete an item
5) Find a colleague/friend (not easy) or hire a mentor who will
hold you accountable
Mentors sometimes known as life coaches help you to rationalise
your project(s), help you to decide a plan and a timetable then
gently hold you accountable. Good mentors guide you without you
ever being aware of it, however in fact mentoring mainly works
because you make sure you reach your targets because it is
embarrassing to say you've made no progress. There is also
peer-mentoring where two Success Seekers mentor each other, the
great of advantage of this is that it's free, disadvantage they
likely have little experience, the real problem is finding one!
Make a list of all your long-term projects
Consider which of the steps above you could complete now
Think about whether Mentoring/Peer Mentoring would be useful to you

Give Money Away

"I am only one; but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something. I will not refuse to do the something I can do." - Helen Keller
Many of the ideas you will find in the Great Success Classics will seem strange or even odd when you first meet them. Here's one of those principles if you want to succeed you have to GIVE AWAY MONEY. That's a tough one to swallow, the way it appears to work is that you attract good Karma. Now the more cynical might be more interested to know that eBay (learnt at eBay University) can prove from their statistics that eBayers who offered items for sale with a percentage donated to charity had a very significant boost to the sales of their other items. What you will also notice as you become more organised and ACTUALLY get round to sending thank you notes, or giving little unexpected extra services to friends, relations and businesses you deal with is that you much more back in return. Now is that Karma or just obvious!
Think of all the little services you could render to people in your circle, and actually do them. Don't expect any benefit but just be pleasantly surprised.

Procrastination

Margaret Thatcher said, "Look at a day when you are supremely
satisfied at the end. It's not a day when you lounge around doing nothing; it is when you've had everything to do, and you've done it."
There are many ways of tackling procrastination none seem to work when you most need it. I will suggest a brutal solution, make yourself so busy that you just don't get time to think about whether you can procrastinate. Where in fact you bounce from job to job, and squeeze in other tasks in between.
Think about times when you got things done and felt that pleasure of resolving problems, try and analyse why you were so resourceful then and not at other times.

Health is Wealth

"If by gaining knowledge (or wealth) we destroy our health, we
labour for a thing that will be useless in our hands." --John Locke
"If we could give every individual the right amount of nourishment
and exercise, not too little and not too much, we would have found
the safest way to health." --Hippocrates
"The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest
his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the

Many of the Success Gurus give health a VERY high priority, imagine
you are successful and finally buy your dream home overlooking the
beach don't you want to be healthy enough to enjoy it? The best
information we have is that lots of fresh vegetables and fruit are
good for us. There is a product called green drink which balances
your alkalinity, but smoothies are much more fun to drink.
Smoothies contain massive amounts of fruit and are delightful to
drink (should be available in your local supermarket).

Remember being successful is not just confined to m0ney making, you
should find that you becoming naturally more active as you start
participating more actively in the lives of your friends, family and
community. Eating properly and being more active should help you to
keep your weight down without wasting all that energy dieting.
One of your rewards for achieving a mini-goal should be to go for
a spin on your bike to a coffee shop, hey and try and pick a coffee
shop
that's a bit further away!
Try and audit your health, are you eating a balanced diet, are you
getting enough exercise, do you sleep well and wake up refreshed?
Do you feel right in yourself. Decide on a small improvement that
you can make to your health today. See health as a long term
investment in yourself .

Do the Most Important Thing First

Successful people make a HABIT of doing things they don't like to
do! Mike Litman
Millionaire steel magnate Andrew Carnegie once paid a consultant
$64,000 for advice. The consultant gave Carnegie two ideas: Write
down what you have to do today and DO THE MOST IMPORTANT THING
FIRST. In actual fact this story was the other way round. The
consultant
said I will give you some advice, and you pay me what you think it
is worth, the $64,000 subsequently offered being at that time a
fortune.
If you can make yourself do this then you've won the battle and can
leave this course. What happens to most people is the opposite they
start doing the trivial painless tasks, then just as they get to
the point where then can finally face doing the important task they
get blown off course by that urgent request or emergency. This is
one of the key reasons why they don't ever get to start their dream
project.
Do your list, prioritise the list, then steel yourself and actually
do the nasty top priority job. Make this a habit and see how good
it feels!

Positive thinking

Is your glass half-empty or half-full? These will be the people you meet with or contact regularly to
discuss your goals, strategies, successes and more. You keep each
other on track, and help tweak each other's visions. Sometimes your
job is to motivate one another. Sometimes you'll have incredible

started
Half-finished projects are a great hallmark of unsuccessful people.
Sometimes people have put in vast amounts of work, nearly finish and then
somehow let their project become dormant. Not only is this a great
waste of effort and energy they actually carry on draining you with guilt
feelings. There seems to be some enormous psychological barrier to
restarting cold projects. There is a trick which is related to the half-job
trick, decide what is the smallest easiest step you can take to revive
the project, decide on it, decide what reward you will give yourself
should succeed. Then take a deep breathe and do it.

Thomas Jefferson
To be successful you have to get more done, more efficiently.
Try to always keep busy, 'bounce' from job to job (even if what you are
doing is "unimportant"), always do something tidying, rearranging, take
things out to the car so you don't forget them, the more you do the
MORE energy you will have. This is the reverse of the couch-potato who is
always tired.
Bouncing stops you having enough time to worry about the difficulty of
doing a task, because you find yourself doing it before you realise.

Try bouncing, try keeping busy, feel your energy increasing, feel the
satisfaction increase as you clear up your jobs.

Finding the Positive in the Negative

One of the most beneficial practices I know of is that of looking for

encourage a person by seeing his good qualities and we also help
ourselves by looking for them. Theron Dumont

Unsuccessful people brood, wallow and sulk when they something bad
happens, successful people move on and try to find the positive. In fact it
often happens that life mini-disasters such as losing a job turn out
for the best as people end up finding a better or more interesting job,
or they get their act together and take their career seriously or get
more qualifications. The technique to develop is say "OK something bad
has happened, now how can I make use of it?".

Don't give up Loving.....

There was a guy who saw a scorpion floundering around in the water. He decided to save it by stretching out his finger, but the scorpion stung him.The man still tried to get the scorpion out of the water, but the scorpion stung him again.

Curiously we remember our failures more than our successes, ANTs
(Automatic Negative Thoughts)
see to the job of recalling your disasters, but there is no equivalent
APT to remind us of our successes.
So start your list (everyone starts off thinking they've got nothing to
write down) you will add to the list
over the months as you gradually recall events. Put down
qualifications, sport successes, hobbies, business ventures,
adventures, holidays, interests, jobs, promotions, clubs, investments,
good deeds, voluntary activities.
Now everything you've done in the past is important, but what is more
interesting will be your future successes.
Note the first victories over yourself, the first time you beat a bad
habit, the first time you move outside your comfort
zone note these down.
Start your Inventory immediately, rest assured it will grow both as you
remember things in your past and then
vitally as you add new successes.

Breaking out of your Comfort Zone

Wouldn't you agree that it's crazy to think you'll get different

Everyone suffers to a greater or lesser extent from attacks from their

This is the inner voice which reminds you of your uselessness whenever
you embark on a new project.Sometimes these ANTs cause us to replay a "video" of some previous disaster for the 100th time. With training you can learn techniques which will allow you to deflect these ANTs before they get going. But the tactic for today is for you to spend more time thinking strategically, planning the next meeting, your next project, your evening, your weekend. Just think about this Tip, it's important.
A major stumbling block for most people is they the keep putting off unpleasant projects. We'll keep coming back to this over the hundred days, but This is a great tip.
Get a project STARTED by saying say "I will assemble the paperwork into a folder" and then STOP.

Listening

When you talk to people avoid being "Interesting" instead choose to be interested, learn from them. It is difficult for people who earning an adequate living to break out of their comfort zone and launch their online career or achieve some other dream. What they lack is a sense of urgency or real deadlines. The trick is to artificially manufacture urgency, get busy, launch parallel projects etc. One
technique I use is to jog between jobs, even menial jobs, keep busy-busy. This helps create the buzz required and sense of achievement required to get started on the important stuff.
Decide to have a 5 minute frenzy where you get as much done as
possible. Preferably physical things pay a bill, tidy your desk, prepare your briefcase for tomorrow. See how it feels afterwards, imagine the advantages if it became a habit.
Finally, develop a sense of urgency. Pick up the pace. Move
quickly from one task to another. Don't waste time. The faster you move, the more energy you will have. The faster you move, the more in control of your life you will feel and the more you will like and respect yourself.

Making Use of Your Dead-Time

"A dream is just a dream. To succeed you have to get more done in a shorter time.
See how much you can get done while the kettle boils, can you tidy
stuff away, pay a bill. Remove invoices from your wallet.
Use this technique to get the little things done so may be just may be
you can attack the big things. When you can't do something physical, ie
when you are in a lift/elevator or traffic jam, use the time to plan.
Plan what you want to achieve in a meeting, run through the things you
need to get done, how you will spend the evening.
Next time you are waiting for the printer/kettle see just how much
you can get done. Make it a game :)

Courage

You've got to follow your passion. It is a systematic, deliberate process of deciding what you want to do with your life, what you will do when you get there, and what the steps are to get you where you want to be.
1. One of the most important aspects of success is the ability to visualize your path and stay focused on your goal until you reach it.

2. The sooner you envision your dreams and develop a plan to turn them into reality, the faster you will accomplish your goals. Mental pictures are a mechanism to lead you down the path of true independence and motivation .Procrastination is a self-defeating behavior that develops in part due to low self-esteem and fear of failure. Your imagination is like a preview of your future. If you don't use your imagination your life will remain mundane and unfulfilled.

3. Overcoming procrastination is the first step in helping you create the lifestyle you desire. You must change the habits and behaviors that led you to procrastinate in the first place.

4. Several small jobs done over time are much more manageable that one large task with no end in sight. You'll be astonished at how much you can get done if you concentrate on one thing at a time instead of cluttering your mind with multiple tasks.

5. Relieve yourself of the pressure created by clutter in your office or home. Develop a filing system, rid yourself of unnecessary papers, and give yourself an organized place to work.

6. If people or outside forces distract you, use the power of the human mind to block out what impedes your progress and concentrate solely on the task at hand.
You will make remarkable progress by refusing to let others alter the path you have chosen.

7. Review your habits and way of thinking to determine what you are visualizing most of the time. If your visions do not lead you in the direction of accomplishing your goals, then you must change them.Discipline yourself to concentrate on your goals the majority of the time, and if you stray from the path, get promptly back on.

Motivational Quotes

When you are right, you cannot be too radical; When you are wrong, you cannot be too conservative.

Devoid of getting into too much detail the Internet and the World Wide Web are different in some way. The Internet is in point of fact, a worldwide network. The history of the Internet started way back in the 1960s. Protocols and browsers make up the Internet and also have a lot to do with how the Internet works. Using the Internet is not very complex at all, especially if you are familiar with a few basics of a computer. Electronic mail is a feature that is used most frequently on the Internet. Viruses are a cause of some problems on the Internet. Search engines are used when you don’t exactly know where to get the information that you are researching on the Internet. The Internet and the World Wide Web is a very broad topic that can go into much detail further more than comparing the two.

There is a small difference between the World Wide Web and the Internet. Most people use them interchangeably. The basis for the Web is the Internet. The Web is built on the Internet, and makes use of many of the mechanisms the Internet provides. The Internet is the hardware or physical aspects such as computers, networks, and/or services.

Affiliate Marketing

What is Affiliate marketing?
Affiliate program is nothing but you hearten other webmasters to sign up and advertise your services and products on their sites, in exchange you pay them based on their performance. An affiliate program is an excellent way to gain additional sales. There are options for all budgets, but you generally get what you pay for.

There are various way that affiliates are paid:
Per Impression: The affiliate is paid a set amount for every time that your ad is shown. The downside is that affiliates have no incentive to send you traffic, or to put your ad in a attention-grabbing location.
Per Click: You pay a set amount for each unique person that clicks on your ad. This is similar to a PPC engine. The downside is that you must pay even if the traffic is of a low quality.
Per Lead: You pay your affiliates based on the number of unique people that click on your ad, and then proceed to complete a particular action (for example, a "lead" might be when someone downloads a trial, or signs up for a mailing list). This is very similar to Per Sale, but is more common on sites promoting free services.
Per Sale: The affiliates are remunerated either a percentage or a set amount for each sale generated by a user that originated from the affiliate's siteAffiliates generally prefer receiving commissions on a Per Impression or Per Click basis, but site owners have a preference of the inevitability of Per Lead and Per Sale.
There are three ways to start an affiliate program: Your own script, install a script, or use a third-party service.
Your own script
If your website's order system has been custom-made, then one option may be to ask your programmer to add an affiliate program to the system. The programmer would add some code to the payment script, and then develop a simple interface for affiliates to see how they're doing, and for you to check on your affiliates.
This is an cost-effective choice for sites based on custom scripting, but site owners may be somnolent to trust your reporting (after all, it would be in your best interest to fudge the numbers). Established sites can get away with this, but new websites may have difficulty here. Also, if you roll your own then it will be entirely up to you to promote it.

Installing a Script
If you don't have a custom-made order script, or if the required modifications would be too pricey, then a similar alternative would be to install a ready-made script. The CGI Resource Index has a list of such scripts. Free scripts are out there, but are generally difficult to find if you're interested in the script's quality (which is important for an affiliate program). Expect to pay $20 to $60 for a good affiliate script.
Like rolling your own, this presents the problem of finding affiliates. Also, affiliates may be just as apprehensive of using a script controlled by you as they would be of a custom-built affiliate system.
Using a Third-Party Service
The final alternative, and the one chosen by the largest number of sites, is to use a third-party service. Here, you let another company control your affiliate program. They will take care of managing it, and to some extent finding affiliates, but at a price.

Angry?

Are you in anger .If yes ,Please have a look at the following lines.

If we are to stand the test of time then we must be leaders to ourselves before we can be leaders to the world. We have to follow through on our commitments and remain true to ourselves at all times. No compromises.
We have to decide early on how we are going to define ourselves and then set out to make that a reality to world. The world will receive us only as we receive ourselves. If we want to know how others see us then all we need to do is examine how we see ourselves.

It doesn't matter what we say or set out to do. We will always have to be tested in the arena of life and only the fully persuaded and committed will win the day. Inside each and everyone one us is a leader and champion ready to take charge and contend for the best in life. To make the best of life we have to change. In order t change we have to be leaders to ourselves.

We must take responsibility for where we are today and the results we want tomorrow. It is time to chart your course and get on with getting in your life. Put and end to aimless wandering and drifting. Decide that you will build a more meaningful existence for yourself and your loved ones. You need to open your eyes to new possibilities. You have to see where you want to go, establish why you must get there and choose to become the person it is going to take in order to get there.

Tips for a Successful Leader

Recently I came across the following words regarding leadership. If I feel depressed I will sing.
If I feel sad I will laugh.
If I feel ill I will double my labour.
If I feel fear I will plunge ahead.
If I feel inferior I will wear new garments.
If I feel uncertain I will raise my voice.
If I feel poverty I will think of wealth to come.
If I feel incompetent I will think of past success.
If I feel insignificant I will remember my goals.
Today I will be the master of my emotions.
Even though you may want to move forward in your life,
you may have one foot on the brakes.
In order to be free,
we must learn how to let go.
Release the hurt,Release the fear.
Refuse to entertain your old pain.
The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life.
What is it you would let go of today?
Men who for truth and honor's sake Stand fast and suffer long.
Brave men who work while others sleep, Who dare while others fly... Below is my list of the reasons you should write articles and allow them to be published online.
• The first, most obvious benefit to you as a writer, is the opportunity to get your work published.
• The second reason is FREE PUBLICITY! - Most article Directories online allow you to include a “resource box” at the end of your article. The resource box is your prospect to SELL yourself, your web site, your products, your services.
• By writing articles on a specific topic, you can establish yourself as an expert in that field.
• By submitting your work to article Directories and allowing web sites to publish it for free, you multiply the potential number of visitors to your site dramatically.
• There are literally thousands of article Directories publishers online all looking for one thing - GREAT CONTENT. Your article(s) (if written well and about a popular subject) are definitely in demand.
• It costs you nothing - not a dime - to submit your articles to article Directories for free online. The only thing that’s required of you is your time (and your ability to write a good article that people will want to read).
Think about it - is there any other FREE way for writers to get published, recognized and publicized online?
• By listing your work in article Directories, you have the opportunity to establish new contacts and lasting relationships with professional publishers online.
